WHAT IS THE ICP SENSOR?

The ICP tells the PCM what the high pressure oil is pressurized to in the drivers side head. It does this by taking a 5 volt signal and altering it, the return signal is sent back to the PCM where it is used to determine pressure.

A faulty ICP can cause a no-start, quit running, low power. If the ICP is not reading a high enough pressure, the PCM will try to compensate for it. If it is reading too high the PCM will try to regulate the pressure down.

SO HOW DO I CHECK MINE?

The best way to test would be through a monitoring tool such as AutoEnginuity. Some tuners such as the SCT X4 or Livewire TS will also show you the current ICP readings. Dont have any of these? A simple way to test is to unplug the sensor and try to start your truck.

WE HAVE YOU COVERED!

Platinum Performance Parts sells ICP sensors for the 7.3 and 6.0 Powerstroke. Always in stock and ready to ship today.
